CHOA was formed in 1998. Our focus is offering a wide variety of group outdoor adventures and Team Sport to communities surrounding the Charlotte, NC metro area

These include skiing/snowboarding, rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, caving, mountain biking, white water rafting, and kayaking.

Most CHOA's outdoor and sport events are free to members. Group travel is with substantial group discount. Other social events are at cost. CHOA provides sport, outdoor equipment, and facility so members can try out different activities without spending money on equipment that they might not use again. We also have many affiliate outfitters that offer exclusive equipment rental and service discount.

Our Mission Statement: Our goal is to get people more active in the community, and the outdoors. We are a group that wishes to include all people and encourage teamwork, and acceptance. Our charter is to help people develop solid, lasting friendships, gain new experiences and ultimately bring more enjoyment into everyone's lives.
