Carolina Adventure D.B.A. Charlotte Outdoor Adventures(CHOA) was formed in 1998. We are the largest and most active outdoor sport and social organization in the Carolinas. We offer a wide variety of recreational activities ranging from outdoor adventures and team sports to group travels and social events to couples, families and singles in Charlotte, Hickory, Greensboro, Lake Norman and Columbia SC metro area. Our events are group oriented, providing you a safe as well as fun way to explore life and meeting lots of people who share your interests.
Our Events are organized in five main category: Sports, Social, Outdoor Adventures, Group Travel and Community Service. Too see list of fun activities that we do click HERE. With over hundred events planned each month, and something planned every day, you can never get bored with the club.
Event Cost: Most CHOA's outdoor and sport events are free to members. Group travel is with substantial group discount. Other social events are at cost. CHOA provides sport, outdoor equipment, and facility so members can try out different activities without spending money on equipment that they might not use again. We also have many affiliate outfitters that offer exclusive equipment rental and service discount.
Activity Leaders: Our outdoor trip leaders have over 12 years of extensive wilderness experience. Many have advanced wilderness instructor and first-aid certification. CHOA allocates a large portion of the budget for leadership training and development.
Our Members are of all ages and all walks of life. There are good mix of couples, families and singles.
Most CHOA members are busy professionals but very active and adventurous. Our membership
base ranges from 1200 members to 3200 member seasonally. Due to constant influx of new
members our membership demographic changes month to month.
CHOA Young Active Professionals(YAP)! It is the newest addition to CHOA community. YAP provides young people an opportunity to connect and stay active through team sports, outdoor adventures, social events and group travel.
Our Mission Statement: Our goal is to get people more active in the community, and the outdoors. We are a group that wishes to include all people and encourage teamwork, and acceptance. Our charter is to help people develop solid, lasting friendships, gain new experiences and ultimately bring more enjoyment into everyone's lives.
