| Charlotte Outdoor Adventures (AKA CHOA) is the largest and most active outdoor sport and social organization in NC and SC. We offer a wide variety of recreational activities ranging from outdoor adventures and team sports to group travels and social events to couples and singles in Charlotte NC and Lake Norman area. Our events are group oriented, providing you a safe as well as fun way to explore life and meeting lots of people who share your interests. Our events are organized in five main category: Sports, Social, Outdoor Adventures, Group Travel and Community Service. Too see list of fun activities that we do click HERE. With over hundred events planned each month, and something planned every day, you can never get bored with the club. Event Cost: Most CHOA's outdoor and sport events are free to members. Group travel is with substantial group discount. Other social events are at cost. CHOA provides sport, outdoor equipment, and facility so members can try out different activities without spending money on equipment that they might not use again. We also have many affiliate outfitters that offer exclusive equipment rental and service discount. With gas prices sky-rocketed we encourage members to carpool and share gas expenses. Activity Leaders: Our outdoor trip leaders have extensive wilderness experience. Many have advanced wilderness safety and first-aid certification. CHOA allocates a large portion of the budget for leadership training and development. CHOA's outdoor director Tito Menjiva is a professional mountaineering and outdoor guide. Tito possesses multiple wilderness, mountaineer and rock climbing certification. Tito is currently in charge of the outdoor leadership training and development. |
| Our members range in age from 21 to 62 years of age, with approximately 60% being single and 40% married or in committed relationship. Most CHOA members live in Charlotte and Lake Norman areas. There are a sizable number of members that live in Lake Wylie and Rock Hill SC. CHOA accommodates people of all ages and backgrounds. Our membership base ranges from 1500 members to 3200 member seasonally. Most people join CHOA in spring and summer. Due to constant influx of new members our membership demographic changes month to month. |  |
