I want you to know that
I am very happy with CHOA as a whole. I have met so many great people and have
made a bunch of new friends. I enjoy the events and look forward to having something
to do. I lived in Charlotte five years prior to joining CHOA and honestly, was
very homesick. Needless to say, that is not the case any longer. - Lisa Holinka

CHOA sounds great! I've lived
in Charlotte for 4 years and have been waiting for something like this to come
along. I look forward to meeting you and the others soon. Thanks for all that
you do. - Jason |
Thanks
and I am having so much fun with CHOA and all the great people I am meeting.

Went hiking
in Boone and had a blast! Met two friends Mike and Srini. Can't wait to do it
again. - Jonathan |
| Not
only had I made some new acquaintances, but new friendships were born as well.
One in particular wound up being one of the best friends I’ve ever known! -
Doris | I
did check out the CHOA web site, and it's very complete. My first thought was
"Is there anything they DON'T do?" - Fritz |
| Really
enjoyed my 1st event with you all. Like you said, everybody I met, (I didn't get
around to all of them) were really cool. Looking forward to attending some more
events. I'm telling my friends about CHOA. Catch ya later, Bill | I
was able to go on the Boone Fork Trail hike last month, and thought it was excellent.
- Bob Graham |
Yah!,
another hike I can go on! Had fun at Chimney Rock! Looking forward to going again!
- Kathy Kraly The Fat Tuesdays
Social exceeded my expectations!! Wow. - Allison Bustle |
First, thanks so much for all of
your hard work to organize such an active and friendly group. I've only been to
a few events so far, but I had good times and have especially appreciated the
e-communication. It's nice to just log on and have so many choices for activities.
Thanks - Kedrick

I'm
taking this opportunity to say, good job! I was looking for ways to meet new and
exciting people when I came apon your website and was very impressed. I now feel
the same way you did. Work-home -tv- sleep. I moved to charlotte with my fiancee
approx 3 years ago but needless to say she was no good and things didn't work
out. All my old friends are in NJ and I'm here. I really like Charlotte and dont
want to have to move again. I'll be registering today with choa cause it may be
just what I'm looking for. Once again It looks like you really got something going
with this club, Good Job! Sincerely- Jeff Leidersdorff | Hi
Greg! My name is Allison Bustle and I am a director and leader in CHOA. I am also
on AOL so feel free to IM or email me with any questions. I am glad you have an
interest in our outdoors group. To give you a little history about myself, I grew
up in Charlotte and returned about 2 years ago. I found the CHOA web site back
in August of 1998 via alta vista's search engine. I have been a member ever since
and still enjoy meeting new CHOA members. I hope CHOA can make your transition
to Charlotte easier. This group is filled with a lot of wonderful people. Take
care, Allison |
| We
had a blast! A really great group, I couldn't have asked for an easier group to
lead.... particularly since I was the first one to crash on Saturday night and
they had to lead themselves down the path of drinking, dancing, and late night
eating!! The size of the group was perfect because we were all able to stick together.
At no point did we go our separate ways really. - Shelly Hilk | I
have not been to that many events but I am impressed with the quality of leaders
and people. What strikes me the most is the effort that the leaders put into these
events and the genuinely friendly people I have met. Fran, Steve, Ken and many
others (who are not leaders) are the backbone of CHOA and should be commended.

The main reason I joined CHOA is to share activites with others and your group
has the most diverse set of activites of any group in Charlotte. - Sharmon | I
love CHOA just for what it gives me. A great group of friends to hang out and
enjoy common interest with. Honestly, if CHOA wasn't there, I would've moved to
Portland, Oregon or Atlanta a last year. - Alexander Pfeifer |
| Just
wanted to let you know I had a blast this weekend and look forward to much more
with the group...quite a diverse group we had and that's what makes it an experience
to remember, you've definitely got something special with CHOA and I am psyched
to be a part of it. - David Miller | I
just want to tell you that CHOA has made vast positive improvements in my life
since I have been involved and I have never been happier in my life because of
it... so thanks so much for being who you are and all you do.... you just have
no idea..... Patty Killion |
| When
I joined CHOA 8 months ago, I didn't know a soul in the club. I took a guy friend
with me to my first event, but after that I went solo. At that first event, everyone
was soooooo friendly that I soon felt that I was among a group of good friends!
There are all ages represented in CHOA, from 40+ "single again" women like myself
to young adult guys and girls (like my 22 year-old daughter Anissa) who are looking
to expand their circle of good friends and acquaintances while enjoying some fun
sports and social events. We also have several couples (both married and unmarried)
in the club, and they are just part of the group like everyone else, so you won't
be alone. - Fran Smith |
| In case you
don't hear it, you not only have a good business, but a great service to those
of us that want to meet others in town. Thanks! – Rick Owens |
I'm really
enjoying CHOA - met a lot of really great people in the month since I've joined.
I've been in Ski Bees for 21 yrs. but moved away from here 15 years ago and moved
back to Charlotte in April. Joined CHOA to do beginner mt. biking and
since then have gone to other events and everyone is great. Made new friends and
done other events - it's a great club and glad to have found it. - Pat Harvey |

Don,
I just had to drop you a note to tell you about my first event as a CHOA member.
I signed up for the Swing Dance this past Friday night with Eura Tunstall as the
leader.
I emailed her in advance letting her know that this was my first
event, I was coming alone, I was new to town, etc, etc. She emailed me back letting
me know she would be there to make me feel comfortable. Well, she kept her word!!
She greeted me at the door (it must have been the look of terror on my face that
made her recognize me!!), walked me into the dance, and introduced me to the other
earlybirds. Then several times during the course of the night she made it a point
to check in on me and introduce me to the other CHOA members. I really had a great
time!
Don, first impressions count, and my first impression of CHOA is
such a positive one. I plan on extending my membership and joining in on other
events.
Thanks!!! Joy Marie Lisa Lynch | I'm
looking forward to participating in your organization. Thanks for providing this
valuable service to the 'disconnected mobile masses'.

In
response to posting a message in the E-Weekly looking for help finding a job in
Social Work:
Hey, I
was going to write to you today. I've already gotten about 5 responses!! People
have been so nice... and I have some real leads! Wow! I should have joined 3 weeks
ago!!! Laura | The
California Wine Tasting was a lot of fun. Not only was the meeting location great
(even though we filled it up beyond the max), the atmosphere was also very social.
I noticed a lot of people walking from table to table, trying to meet several
different groups of people. Also, even if someone decided to just stay seated,
they had a great opportunity to get to know others at their table much better.
Speaking personally, I met 3 great new gals who were at my table. Everyone was
so nice and having such a good time! I also had a great conversation with a new
guy at the bar. - Tiffany Hawks |
