Difficulty level is Moderate overall. Must be in relatively good physical condition to participate. Be sure to wear durable hiking shoes/boots because there are more than 20 water crossings and bring plenty of water.
If you haven`t been on the Boone Fork Trail while the Rhododendrons are in bloom then you`re in for a treat!

This is a moderate 5 mile loop hike that is perfect for beginners so if you are new to CHOA and you`re looking for an opportunity to get out and explore nature, then this is your chance!
Be sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes/boots so you are prepared for water crossings, wear layers, bring a snack and plenty of water. We will meet in the parking lot of the Food Lion in Huntersville off of Hwy 77. The drive to Julian Price Park off the Blue Ridge Parkway is approx 2.5 hours from Charlotte. Following the hike, we will stop somewhere in Boone for a late lunch/early dinner before we head back to Charlotte.
See you there!
