Welcome to the largest remnant of old-growth floodplain forest remaining on the continent! Experience national and state champion trees, towering to record size amidst astonishing biodiversity. We will paddle within this dynamic floodplain ecosystem. Beauty and tranquility reign supreme in the midst of this natural treasure.
CHOA will provide kayaks, paddle and PDFs.
Optional camp and cook out on the open flame on Sat night.
What to wear: synthetic clothes (none cotton). water shoes or sandals. Bring bug spray, sun screen, food for lunch and plenty of water. If you want to camp out bring tent, sleeping bag, camp light, camp cook ware, food & non-alcoholic beverages for Sat cook out. The camp site is accessible by car so you can bring as much as you want. CHOA has a large 6 person tent for those who do not have a tent.
