CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- With soaring gas prices, traveling has become quite expensive. Summer is the peak driving season and rising gas prices can take a toll on anyone's budget.
With this in mind, a Charlotte social Club is offering active local people an easy way to not only meet others, but also to reduce gas consumption. |
| Charlotte Outdoor Adventures has more than 120 events each month for participants to choose from. They have utilized internet technology to facilitate carpooling. |
This way, people that have a common interest can carpool and make friends. A lot of these people are new to the area just looking for things to do, said CHOA member Kent Walker. The best thing to do these days, with the rising price of gas, is to carpool to these events.
Club members feel that by giving up just a little bit of personal convenience, in the long run, they will save a lot of money, make many new friends and help reduce the Charlotte area traffic grind.
