2	How CHOA was started
3	Defining the group There were plenty of other clubs in Charlotte but they all seemed so focused on specific areas. Many aimed for singles & relationship, others focused only on sports and a few are drinking clubs. NONE of these clubs were event-oriented, and based on the web, which would appeal to more professional people. Our vision is to utilize the web, and combine virtual community with physical activities to bring people together. CHOA takes part in many different activities and is a welcome place for everyone, single, married, Black, White and Asian whatever! One big happy family.
4	CHOA Members The people who have joined CHOA are very diverse. A majority are single, and approximately 20% are married. Many people in CHOA have children. Currently the average age is about 33-35. We currently have a strong female majority. We believe this is due to the fact the group is open to couples and not exclusively a singles group. Most members are professionally employed. We believe this is due to the fact we are a web based group.
5	CHOA Event Organizers Our leaders are members of CHOA who have come forward to share their ideas and energy. Without the leaders, this group would not be as successful as it is today! Leadership has its benefits! Whenever a member is made a leader and he or she runs an event, we add one month to their membership for free. Also, whenever possible the events our leaders attend are free for them. That is our way of rewarding the active people in the group. Leaders are carefully selected and each has to meet with the directors before being appointed the title.

Since this group was founded, we've managed to form our own circle of friends and seen several long lasting friendships formed.
